Best pay monthly websites in the UK

Fourteen UK companies that build you a website for a monthly fee with nothing to pay upfront. Real prices, what you actually get and who each one suits.

We are one of them. Website Per Month is in this table at number nine. So read our notes with that in mind, judge the numbers yourself and go with whoever fits. Several companies below are cheaper than us and we have said so.
Prices checked September 2026. They change, so confirm on the provider's own site before you sign anything. Where a company does not publish a price we have said so rather than guessing.

Mojo Websites£19/moUp to seven pages, hosting and domain includedRollingThe lowest published price we could find. Worth a look if budget is the whole decision.
Build 76£20/moSmall business site, hosting includedRollingCheap end of the market. Also publishes its own comparison of this niche, which is worth reading.
Yopp£25/moWebsite plus hosting, or £495 to own it outrightRollingTrading since 2011 and claims over a thousand customers. The most established name here by some distance. If track record is what you want, start with them.
Lollipop Rocks£25/moOne page. £45 for four pages, £75 for eightRollingCheshire based. Clear page-count pricing so you know exactly what a bigger site costs.

PocketSite£30/moPay monthly small business siteRollingStraightforward single tier.

We do the Google Business Profile work on the £39 tier and keep managing it rather than setting it up and walking away. Newer than most here, which is a fair thing to hold against us.

Monthly Web Design£50/moAll inclusive monthly web design serviceRollingEverything bundled into one fee.
RTWD£59/moBespoke design, direct designer accessRollingTop of the range here. Sells on bespoke work and talking to the designer rather than a salesperson.

The difference between £19 and £69 is not what you think

Everyone in that table will give you a website that loads, looks tidy on a phone and has your phone number on it. That part is close to solved. The monthly price mostly reflects how much human time comes with it, not how good the site is.

What actually decides whether the thing earns its keep is narrower than the price:

Does anyone find it

A beautiful site nobody visits is a brochure in a drawer. For most local businesses and trades the traffic comes from Google Maps, not from the website. If your Google Business Profile is unclaimed or half filled in, sorting that will do more for you than any amount of design. Ask every company on this list what they do about it and listen carefully to the answer.

Can you get a change made

You will want the phone number changed, a service added, a price updated. Ask how you request a change, who does it and how long it takes. "Email us and we do it" is a real answer. A ticket portal you have to learn is not.

What happens when you leave

On a pay monthly deal you are usually renting, not buying. That is fine as long as you know it. Ask two questions: can you cancel this month without a penalty, and do you keep the domain name. The domain is the one that bites people.

Who owns the domain

If the company registered your domain in their name rather than yours, moving is painful. Register it yourself if you can, or get it in writing that it is yours. It costs about a tenner a year and it is the single most valuable thing in the whole arrangement.

Is it a template or is it yours

Most pay monthly sites at this price are built on a template. There is nothing wrong with that and anyone telling you otherwise at £25 a month is fibbing. What matters is whether the words, photos and services on it are actually about your business, or generic filler with your name dropped in.

Can you see their work

Ask for three live sites they built for businesses like yours, then go and look at them on your phone. Not a portfolio image. The actual live site. If they will not send links, that tells you something.

Six questions to ask any of us before you sign

  1. Can I cancel this month with no penalty, and what happens to the site if I do?
  2. Is the domain registered in my name or yours?
  3. Who claims and fills in my Google Business Profile, and is that included or extra?
  4. How do I get a change made, and what is the normal turnaround?
  5. Can you send me three live sites you built for businesses like mine?
  6. Is the price fixed, or does it go up after twelve months?

Any company worth the money will answer all six in a couple of minutes without going vague. If you get a sales script instead, that is your answer.

Who each price bracket suits

Under £30 a month. You are getting a solid template site, hosting and someone to email when something breaks. Right for a sole trader or a small local business that mainly needs to exist properly online and look legitimate when someone checks you out. Do not expect a lot of hand holding at this price and do not expect anyone to be doing marketing for you.

£30 to £45 a month. The bracket where the Google side of things usually starts being included rather than sold separately. If you are a trade and you get most of your work from people searching nearby, this is where the money starts doing something, because the Google Business Profile is where those searches actually land.

£45 and up. More design time, more bespoke work, more direct access to whoever is building it. Worth it if you have a specific look in mind or a more complicated business. Not worth it if you are a one van operation who mainly needs a phone number and some photos of your work in front of local people.

Frequently asked questions

Is pay monthly cheaper than paying once?

Over five years, usually not. £25 a month is £1,500 over five years and you could have bought a site outright for less. What you are buying is no upfront cost, ongoing hosting and someone to call. If you have £800 spare and know a good local designer, buying outright can work out better. If you do not, or you would rather keep the cash in the business, pay monthly makes sense. Be honest with yourself about which you are.

What happens if I stop paying?

On almost every pay monthly deal, including ours, the site comes down. That is the trade for £0 upfront. Check the exact terms before you sign, and check whether you keep the domain, because that is the part you will actually want if you move on.

Do I really need a website if I am on Facebook and Checkatrade?

You can win work without one. Plenty do. But when someone gets your name from a neighbour, the first thing they do is search it, and what comes up decides whether they call. A claimed Google Business Profile with photos and reviews does most of that job. A website makes you look like a proper business rather than a bloke with a van and a mobile number. Both help. If you only do one thing this month, claim your Google Business Profile, and it is free.

Why are these all so cheap compared to a normal web designer?

Because they are largely templated and built quickly, and because the monthly fee spreads the cost over years rather than charging it upfront. A bespoke site from a traditional agency is three to ten thousand pounds because someone is designing it from nothing and spending weeks on it. Both are honest ways to sell a website. They are just aimed at different buyers.

Should I pick the cheapest one on this list?

If your budget genuinely is £19 a month, pick the £19 one and get on with your day. A site that exists beats a site you are still thinking about a year from now. The difference between the options on this page is smaller than the difference between having one and not.
